Denial is a New Social Network or “If It Ain’t Broke…”

Facebook is truly one of the most fascinating companies. I came to the site, kicking and screaming, but once there was very happy and amused to reconnect with long lost friends. However, consistently Facebook has said “fuck you” to its users. Its as if Coca Cola kept New Coke on the shelves or Tylenol stuck to the potentially cyanide laced capsules, explaining “you’ll get used to it” despite serious consumer outrage. Why does Facebook think they are immune? First there was that whole Beacon nonsense and now one of the worse website designs in history. Are they trying to look more like MySpace? The SECOND another social network opens up that allows me to easily migrate all of my friends to a new destination, I am gone.

Auntie’s Advice: Never let your arrogance ruin your hustle.

Update: One of the best parts about Facebook of course, is that anyone can write an application for the site. Right after writing this post, I got an email from a friend about a new Facebook app that reverts your page back to the Old Facebook design. Perfect.

Auntie’s Advice: Your friends are wonderful problem solvers.
